Advanced Therapeutics in Movement & Related Disorders Congress® (ATMRD) is focused on reaching movement disorder specialists, neurologists, fellows, and advanced practice providers and aims to prepare learners to apply new knowledge, tools, and strategies to the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients with movement disorders. Learners will explore in-depth, science-based research focused on efficacy in real-world patients and engage in stimulating discussions of clinical practice case studies that use advanced therapeutics to solve treatment conundrums. In 2024, this Congress will occur at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD from June 21st to 25th.Target Audience
This course is for movement disorder specialists, neurologists, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with a movement or related disorder.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Appraise the newest research and guidelines for treating and managing movement disorders.
- Understand the value and importance of comprehensive interdisciplinary care in movement disorders and how to develop and define team roles and competencies.
- Interpret motor and non-motor fluctuations in Parkinson’s and related disorders.
- Differentiate treatments for motor and non-motor symptoms in Parkinson’s and related disorders, including impacts on patient quality of life and outcomes.
- Employ appropriate and routine screening, examination, and interviews with movement disorder patients and caregivers to assess symptoms, adverse interactions, disease progression, and quality of life.
- Minimize symptoms, side effects, and adverse interactions for patients diagnosed with a movement disorder.
- Implement advanced therapies in treating motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s and related disorders.
- Manage treatment plans, complex polypharmacy, calculation of dose, titration, and effective programming of devices as appropriate to maximize quality of life and improve patient outcomes.
