This activity is jointly provided by Parkinson & Movement Disorder Alliance (PMD Alliance) and The Association of Movement Disorder Advanced Practice Providers (AMDAPP).
The AMDAPP Annual CME Conference, titled "Advancing Movement Disorder Care - Innovations & Best Practices for APPs," is a dynamic two-day event designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of advanced practice providers (APPs) in movement disorder care. The conference provides a blend of educational sessions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities.

Target Audience
This course is for movement disorder specialists, neurologists, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with a movement or related disorder.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Develop advanced diagnostic skills to differentiate Parkinson’s disease from other movement disorders, ensuring timely and accurate diagnoses for improved patient outcomes.
- Apply current evidence-based treatments in the management of movement disorders, including pharmacologic advancements and non-pharmacologic interventions, to enhance individualized patient care.
- Integrate comprehensive and holistic strategies within movement disorder treatment plans to provide care that addresses both the physical and psychological needs of patients including their social history and personalized needs with empathy to both the patient and care partner.
- Demonstrate competence in device-based therapies, including Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) programming and intrathecal pump management, through hands-on workshops designed to improve procedural skills and patient outcomes.
- Perform injection techniques for conditions such as sialorrhea and dystonia effectively and safely, contributing to better symptom management and patient comfort.
- Identify and address hyperkinetic movement disorders by applying the latest treatment approaches, enhancing quality of life for patients experiencing these conditions.
- Explore the roles and contributions of APPs within multidisciplinary care teams, and develop leadership skills to foster improved collaboration and communication across care providers.
- Enhance strategies for managing atypical presentations of movement disorders, using evidence-based approaches to refine diagnostic and treatment approaches.
- Assess the latest updates on certification and professional development within movement disorders to support continued growth and competency among APPs.
- Increase confidence in applying new therapies and clinical insights to ensure APPs are prepared to adopt and implement innovative care strategies that meet evolving patient needs.
