This course is for movement disorder specialists, neurologists, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with a movement or related disorder.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Differentiate idiopathic Parkinson’s disease (PD) from other movement disorders using clinical features and diagnostic tools.
- Describe the pharmacologic management of Parkinson’s disease, including first-line therapies, treatment-related complications, and considerations for medication titration and side effects.
- Recognize the indications, benefits, and limitations of advanced non-pharmacologic interventions in the management of PD.
- Identify common motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and formulate patient-centered treatment strategies that improve quality of life across stages of disease progression.
- Identify personal and systemic contributors to burnout using validated tools.
- Apply three evidenced-based self-care practices to mitigate emotional exhaustion.
- Advocate for workplace changes using data-driven communication.
- Create a personalized resilience plan with peer accountability.

Jacqueline Cristini is a Physician Associate with greater than 25 years of professional experience augmented by a Master of Medical Science degree with 20 years of experience in Movement Disorders and expertise deep brain stimulation and focused ultrasound. Current position: Director, Deep Brain Stimulation Program and Coordinator, High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Program at JFK University Medical Center, Edison, NJ, Hackensack Meridian.
